FG Eurofred and Fujitsu: value, reliability and efficiency

Thanks for visiting us. As you can see, we are in the process of building a new site, which we will use to give you more information, both in the form of product sheets and more general guides, which we hope will help you achieve more reliability, value and efficiency in your work.

For example, our Guide To Reliability can be downloaded here - a paper based on the thoughts of a number of leading engineers who were asked to give their suggestions for how to get the highest levels of efficiency out of an air-conditioning system. It is free to download, and there will be more pieces like this to follow. We hope you find it - and future content that will be appearing here - useful.

Testing, testing: the story behind the ad...

We used this image in our advertising campaign because the only way you can really be sure of a product's reliability is to test it thoroughly. Each piece of Fujitsu kit has been tested to destruction so we know it will provide years of reliable service. But what are the two gentlemen testing in the photo?

They are in fact conducting experiments on the loudness of car horns at the National Physical Laboratory in Teddington, Middlesex. Opened in 1902 the NPL has pioneered some fantastic advancements in technology, ranging from the famous 'Dambusters' bouncing bomb developed by Barnes Wallis to caesium-based atomic clocks, which helped redefine the precise duration of a second. This particular image shows the scientists from the 'acoustical laboratory', a specialist unit that was used to measure the extent – and the effects – of the increasingly noisy technologies that were appearing in the first half of the twentieth century, such as jet engines and new manufacturing processes in factories. And, in this case, car horns.
